How do the two serial chips on the QT-USBSRD-V3 work together?
The board carries a 32-bit MCU with a 12 MHz crystal, an original USB hub chip, and two serial controllers — FT232RL and CH340. The hub exposes them as two independent serial channels, so one USB cable from the host can serve both the device debug port and the fixture control port. Serial baud rate goes up to 3 Mbit/s, and there is one controllable 5 V output rated at 4 A drive capability, subject to the 500 mA limit of an unpowered USB port.
Key points
- One USB cable, two independent serial channels
- FT232RL and CH340 cover both common driver ecosystems
- Baud rate up to 3 Mbit/s
- Controllable 5 V output, 4 A capability when externally powered
- Power, status, and RX/TX indicators for fast fault isolation
