Where should an ECG test station sit in a watch production line?
Three rules govern placement. Put it late, because ECG validates whole-unit function and belongs after assembly and the basic radio and functional tests. Keep the sequence physically sensible: run tests that can disturb electrode contact — water resistance, drop — before ECG, and finish ECG before packaging. Match the cycle time: a four-position station can run parallel or sequential output, so align it with the UPH of the stations on either side and drive fixture changeover and judgement from a recipe.
Key points
- Place ECG after assembly, radio, and basic functional tests
- Run water resistance and drop tests before ECG, because they affect electrode contact
- Finish ECG before packaging, since packaging is irreversible
- Four-position output can run parallel or sequential; align it with neighbour UPH
- Fixture changeover and judgement driven by recipe, not operator choice
