How should I read the QT-USB3.2 Gen2x2 FV08 shielding figures?
The panel specifies shielding effectiveness in three bands: at least 80 dB from 800 MHz to 6 GHz, at least 70 dB from 6 to 10 GHz, and at least 60 dB from 10 to 12 GHz. The strongest suppression covers the cellular and Wi-Fi bands that matter most; above 6 GHz parasitic effects become more significant and the specification relaxes accordingly. The operating range is 0.8–12 GHz. Component figures are not the same as system figures — the shielding of the assembled enclosure still has to be measured.
Key points
- 80 dB or better from 800 MHz to 6 GHz
- 70 dB or better from 6 to 10 GHz
- 60 dB or better from 10 to 12 GHz
- Parasitic effects grow with frequency, so the specification relaxes
- Installed system shielding must be measured on the assembled enclosure
