How do line communication Wi-Fi and device RF testing coexist in one plant?
Manage it on three levels. In frequency, when equipment Wi-Fi overlaps the test bands — common at both 2.4 and 5 GHz — split the roles: move communication to wired or to planned channels, and let the enclosure handle test isolation. In space, keep access points away from test stations and use walls and the enclosure itself as barriers; the cavity is the test signal’s shield. In time, if needed, introduce communication quiet windows or scheduled time-sharing for high-volume coupling stations. When a fault appears, measure the spectrum before assuming which side is the interferer.
Key points
- Move communication to wired or planned channels where possible
- The enclosure protects the test; it does not protect the Wi-Fi link
- Physically separate access points from test stations
- Use quiet windows or time-sharing for high-volume stations
- Diagnose with a spectrum measurement before blaming either side
