How does one RSSI test station handle mixed models, cased and bare units?
Mixed-model production needs three things to line up at once. Mechanically, an adjustable or swappable fixture has to establish a single positioning datum. In software, the test recipe has to bind to the model and load automatically from the incoming unit. In process, unit identification or a station convention has to prevent the wrong recipe running. Cased and bare units usually cannot share pass/fail thresholds, because the housing changes both the outline and the dielectric environment around the antenna.
Key points
- One positioning datum across models, achieved through an adjustable or swappable fixture rather than per-model stations
- Test recipes bound to the model and loaded from the incoming unit, so operators never select a recipe by hand
- Cased and bare units assigned separate thresholds, or the line standardizes on one incoming state
- Command wrapping sits between the line PC and the instrument, so an unvalidated command cannot reach the device
- Wrapping also gives permission control and an operation log somewhere to live
