How do I confirm a tablet and laptop coupling station is still accurate day to day?
Three levels of checking. Daily, run a golden unit at a fixed fitting state before the shift starts and confirm the readings fall inside the control band before releasing the station. Periodically — weekly or monthly — check insertion loss on each RF switch path, the coupling pad and fixture condition, and shielding performance against the calibration baseline, and act on trend degradation early. On trigger — after changeover calibration, after a repair or a move, or when a drift alarm appears — run a targeted check and record it.
Key points
- Daily golden-unit check at a fixed fitting state before releasing the station
- Control band, not a single value: trend matters more than one reading
- Weekly or monthly per-path insertion loss and fixture condition check
- Trigger checks after changeover, repair, relocation, or a drift alarm
- Keep the records in a log so degradation is visible before it becomes a failure
