POS and Payment Terminal RF Shield Testing
Controlled RF environment for payment terminal validation and line screening
Overview
Payment terminals fail in ways that are easy to miss on a bench. A POS unit can pass a conducted test and still drop a contactless transaction because the antenna detunes when the housing is assembled, or because a nearby reader adds interference the bench never reproduced. This setup puts the terminal in a defined RF environment so those effects become measurable.
The configuration is built around six decisions: the device under test, the operating bands, the instrument set, the coupling path, the positioning fixture, and the software sequence. We size the enclosure and the coupling hardware against those, rather than starting from a catalogue box.
Two mechanical formats are available: a large front-opening cabinet for bench or pilot-line work, and a smaller front-opening enclosure for a single station. Model, usable cavity size, shielding and absorber performance, connector complement, and test capability are all confirmed against the project scope before quotation.

Specifications
Features
- Test environment defined around the terminal, its bands, and the coupling path rather than a stock enclosure
- Covers radiated performance, link stability, and interference diagnosis in one setup
- Front-opening formats keep the DUT accessible for engineering iteration
- NFC and payment certification testing scoped separately, so expectations stay accurate
Typical applications
- Payment terminal design validation
- POS production screening
- Field-return failure analysis
