UWB Production Test Enclosure
Shielded environment and fixture for UWB terminal testing
Overview
UWB testing differs from conventional RF testing in one important way: the measurement depends on timing and angle, not just amplitude. That means the enclosure is only part of the setup — fixture geometry and antenna placement determine whether ToF and AoA results are meaningful.
This system pairs a shielded enclosure with an automated fixture, covering 900 MHz–13 GHz with both near-field and far-field antenna configurations. Fixture travel is pneumatic, and the design accommodates robot loading with anti-pinch protection.
To state it carefully: the enclosure does not by itself determine ranging or angle accuracy. Near-field versus far-field structure, fixture actuation, robot handling, and the instrument chain all have to be confirmed against the device, the chipset, and the specific measurement method.
