Which 5G FR1 bands matter, and how do they map to shield box coverage?
The FR1 bands that drive Chinese deployments are n28 at 700 MHz, n41 at 2.5–2.7 GHz, n78 at 3.3–3.6 GHz, and n79 around 4.8–4.96 GHz in practice. For equipment selection the lowest band sets the requirement: n28 at 703 MHz means the enclosure has to work from 0.5 or 0.7 GHz, not from 0.8 GHz. A box specified from 0.8 GHz will not cover n28. Check the low-frequency limit of the enclosure against your lowest band before anything else.
Key points
- n28 at 700 MHz sets the low-frequency requirement
- n41 at 2.5–2.7 GHz and n78 at 3.3–3.6 GHz are the volume mid-bands
- n79 sits around 4.8–4.96 GHz in deployed networks
- An enclosure specified from 0.8 GHz does not cover n28
- Confirm the low-frequency limit before comparing any other figure
