Low Noise Amplifier MI058, 1–18 GHz
30 dB gain, 4.0 dB noise figure, 1–18 GHz
Overview
When a signal at the end of a long test chain has dropped close to the analyser noise floor, an LNA placed early recovers the measurement margin. The gain figure matters less than where the amplifier sits: ahead of the lossy element, the noise figure dominates; behind it, the gain only amplifies noise that is already there.
MI058 covers 1–18 GHz with 30 dB gain, ±2.0 dB gain flatness, a 4.0 dB noise figure, and a 15 dBm output P1dB, measured at +25 °C at sea level. Reverse isolation is 40 dB and input/output VSWR is 2.0:1.
One documentation point worth flagging: the customer specification lists the part as APLNA4-1-18GC1, while the website refers to it as MI058. Confirm the correspondence in the quotation or technical agreement before ordering, so the delivered part and the datasheet match.
Maximum input is 5 dBm, supply is +12 V at 100–150 mA, and the nickel-plated aluminium housing measures approximately 24 × 24 × 10 mm.
